Wind forecast for Gotland / Vivesholm provided by windfinder.com
Wind Forecast for Gotland.
“How’s the wind bru?”
We always have our eyes on the weather, but this forecast will give you a good idea of when the wind will be blowing.
Good wind for learning is around 5 to 10 m/s. While winds around 15 to 20 m/s are still great for learning (we use smaller kites) this is the ideal range for kitesurfing.
Nu är det dags att planera upp sommaren! Kan rekommendera alla nära och kära en kitekurs på Gotland med en riktigt skön och trevlig instruktör!🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞

IKO Certified.
Our instructors are all IKO certified, following the most up to date and globally accepted kiteboarding learning methods. The IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) ensures that safety for all learners and beach users is the top priority.
Local Knowledge.
Living on Gotland all year round helps us observe and monitor local weather patterns and has given us the time to discover some of the best bays and beaches on the island. This all means more chance of scoring good wind and waves!
Only good times.
Although teaching and sharing our passion of wind and waves is what we do officially, we also aim to share the stoke and experience of what it means to be a kiter or surfer. And one of the biggest elements of this is friendship, and the social connections we make through the sport.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions:
What’s included in the kite/surf lessons?
We provide wetsuits, helmets, buoyancy vests, kites and boards, and good times. All you need to bring are sunglasses, sunscreen, a towel and some water and snacks.
Are kitesurfing lessons really needed?
Yes. Any kitesurfer who respects the sport will agree that beginner lessons are essential. As well as getting you up and riding as soon as possible, our instructors will furnish you with essential safety know-how and procedures.
How hard is kitesurfing to learn?
All ages and sizes can learn to kitesurf! Compared to other water/wind-sports kiteboarding is relatively easy to learn. The learning curve compared to windsurfing and surfing is faster, and the kiteboarder will be more advanced after their first year.
Are the lessons family friendly?
Kitesurfing is for anyone from 8 to 99 years old. Please let us know if you are booking for a child. If you and your partner want to learn together, that’s perfect, choose one of the group lessons and you can learn together. For those who like to enjoy the sea at a slower pace we also have paddle boards for hire – which are also great for little kids to play on.
Speak to us if you require a baby-sitter service while you are in the water doing lessons, we can arrange a minder to ensure your little ones are safe.
What if there is no wind?
Since none of us can control the weather, one question many kiters have is “What will we do if there is no wind”? On days when it looks like there won’t be much wind, we make a call the day before, it’s very often the wind is light in the morning – which is great to learn the required theory and start your initial kite flying, and then picks up in the afternoon.
While every effort is made to ensure we only hold our lessons in suitable conditions, somedays the prediction is totally off and we need to forfeit the lesson. When this happens, all our students have the options of waiting for the next available windy day, or requesting a 6 month ‘rain-check’, or a refund.
How can I book & pay?
Booking can be made online. Pick a date you are free and you will have a reserved spot for that day. You can pay online, with our partner Stripe. We also offer to split payments with Klarna. If you prefer to pay on the day, we accept Swish, and cash.
